Sign & Notarize Grant Deed: Lecture 20

Sign and Notarize Grant Deed

Before close of escrow, the sellers will need to sign the grant deed in front of a Notary Public. The grant deed is the document that conveys (transfers) title (ownership) from the sellers to the buyers. The grant deed will only be legally effective once it is recorded as a public document at the county Recorder’s Office.

Although the escrow company will ask the sellers to sign it before close of escrow, don’t worry. It will be held safely in the escrow files until the date it is needed for recording.
