Escrow # and Opening Packet: Lecture 10

Escrow Number and Opening Packet

Once the escrow officer receives your documents and information, they will email you with your new escrow number! Be sure to add this to your contact sheet and put it in your files. Soon you will receive the Escrow Opening Packet from the escrow officer. Your seller client will receive a “Seller Packet” and you will receive the “Listing Agent Packet”. The buyer and buyer’s agent will also receive their own packets.

The documents included in the Opening Packet may include the following:

● Escrow Instructions (EI)

● Copy of Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) funds from the buyer

● Blank Statement of Information (SI) form (in seller’s packet)

● Preliminary Title Report (prelim)

● Commission Instructions (CI)

● Local disclosures

Periodically, the escrow officer will send out other documents to you, your Transaction Coordinator (TC), and the seller. They are very important and you should review the seller’s documents with them.
