Preparing for House Shopping

If you recall for the Getting Buyers course you scheduled a house shopping appointment near the end of the buyer intake meeting. Just like you prepared for the buyer intake meeting, you will need to prepare for the House Shopping appointment with your buyers.

To prepare you will first have to find the selection of housing you will want to see. Then you will prepare to be their guide. You will have to prepare a house shopping packet. To be extra thorough, preview the houses you will see.

Here is a list of the things you need to do to start your preparation:

●    Call the listing agent for each of the top 5 properties in your house selection and make arrangements to view the houses. We will talk about the house selection in the next section.

●    Verify the lock box info and make sure that you have access to each house.

●    Send a reminder email to your buyers about the date and time.

●    If your clients haven’t already brought in their 3 buyer documents (the pre-qualification letter, EMD, and POF) make sure they will need to bring those to the appointment. We went over these 3 items in detail later in the “first steps to representing buyers” and “getting buyers” course.
